“Save our soul,” said the sermon he sold,
Eight years old, enshrined.
Crated scrolls, and the anger they’d scold,
One unfolded find.
And he said,
“Oh my mother, oh my dad,
Oh all the brothers I never had.
Show me the wonderful, show me the sad,
Show me the numbers, and I’ll check the math.”
Three-year toil, and the torment he’d coil
Feared and foiled, he frowned.
Seeded soil, and the favors he’d spoil,
No more folds unfound.
And he said,
“Oh my mother, oh my dad,
Oh all the brothers I never had.
Show me the wonderful, show me the sad,
Show me the numbers, and I’ll check the math.”
“Save our soul,” said the sermon he stole,
Waiting cold in line.
Slated shoals in that country of coals,
Fate unfolds just fine
And he said,
“Oh my mother, oh my dad,
Oh all the brothers I never had.
Show me the wonderful, show me the sad,
Show me the numbers, and I’ll check the math.
Oh my mother, oh my dad,
Oh all the brothers I never had.
Show me the beautiful, show me the bad,
Show me the future, and I’ll draw the map
Show me the beautiful, show me the bad,
Show me the future, and I, oh I’ll draw the map.”
